The Story

Toorji Ka Jhalra, built in the 1740s by the Queen Consort of Maharaja Abhay Singh, is one of Jodhpur's most iconic stepwells. For decades, it lay forgotten — choked with plastic, debris, and sewage. Our team began the monumental task of cleaning and restoring this architectural marvel, removing tons of waste and revealing the stunning carved stone steps beneath. Today, it stands as a beacon of what community-led restoration can achieve, attracting visitors from around the world and serving as a living monument to Rajasthani water heritage.
